Boipoka App Connects Readers Through Their Books
BoiPoka Labs Private Limited has launched BoiPoka, a mobile app that lets readers digitise their bookshelf with a single photograph, and discover people who share their literary interests.

With the global book market valued at over $130 billion and apps make reading easier with hundreds of books in one device, there are interesting book apps in the market. BoiPoka Labs Private Limited has just launched Boi-Poka, a mobile app that lets readers digitise their bookshelf with a single photograph and discover people who share their literary interests.

Creators Meera Raman -former Chief Strategy Officer at Merkle India- in collaboration with Priyanka Agrawal and Tanay Kumar thought there is really no better way to get to know people than this. The trio recognised that existing apps stored books but none of them helped people find each other through common interests. BoiPoka was built to address that gap and uses AI to read a bookshelf within seconds, turning physical collections into organised, searchable digital libraries. Users can explore their books, start reading groups and discover people who share their literary choices.

Made For Bookworms

With the tagline “Made for bookworms everywhere” Boi-Poka means 'bookworm' in Bengali. Readers can take photographs of their books and let app's smart tech identifies the title, author and edition! They can also create their own private reading club, share shelves with friends and discover what their reading buddies recommend. Each feature reinforces a single premise: literary taste offers an authentic basis for connection.

At the launch founder Meera Raman explained: “Readers have always found common ground in ideas. We wanted to build an app that honours that. A single photograph turns your bookshelf into an organised, shareable space, and sometimes, into a bridge to people who think like you. BoiPoka is for those who want more meaningful dialogue in a digital world crowded with the superficial.”

Boi-Poka enables curated book discovery from partner bookstores, reading programs with libraries and educational institutions and community discussions. It is a free consumer app supported by partnerships with bookstores and libraries, merchandise, and events. The BoiPoka app is available on iOS and Android.

About Boi-Poka Labs Private Limited

Boi-Poka is social reading app that allows readers to convert their physical bookshelves into a digital library with a single photograph. The app identifies book spines within seconds and creates an organised, searchable collection that not only helps people keep track of what they own, what they have finished, and what they want to read next; but more importantly, it connects readers with each other. Readers can see what their friends are reading, share recommendations, form book clubs, and discover their local reading community.
