Explaining the crucial role of digital literacy, Lionel Lee said it helps individuals and businesses navigate through the dynamics of this transformative landscape successfully. Stating an example of bringing financial inclusion through technology based platforms, he said:
“The present generation of internet users learn financial concepts from digital sources like TikTok and YouTube. Probably some of these channels and influencers are scammers or may not have enough knowledge themselves.
This is what is causing a higher rate of drop off from the financial security journey.”
More importantly, digital literacy is a bridge to social inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind in an increasingly digital society. Digital literacy equips individuals with the tools to engage meaningfully in the digital realm, opening doors to education, job opportunities, and social connections that were previously inaccessible.
