Michael Fleischman joins DLA Piper as the AI Policy Advisor. Based in the Washington, DC office, serving as the key member of the Government Affairs and Public Policy team, bringing over a decade of experience in technology policy and legislative affairs.

Michael joins DLA Piper from a prominent national advocacy organisation in Washington, DC, where he led the technology policy team with a focus on artificial intelligence and semiconductor cooperation and regulation. His extensive background includes significant roles within Congress and the Executive Branch.

Michael directed and supervised all legislative operations in his previous role as Legislative Director for Congresswoman Grace Meng in the US House of Representatives. He successfully led and organised the passage of multiple bills through the House and managed the Congresswoman’s activities on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Democratic Outreach & Engagement Task Force.
