Duron grew up in North Hollywood in a family that valued hard work. Sports played a major role in his early life. Basketball and football taught him discipline and teamwork.

If you missed practice, you felt it right away,” he says. “Same thing in work. If you don’t show up prepared, the whole team feels it.

That mindset carried into his career. He focused on consistency, not shortcuts.

Today, he still coaches youth football and basketball, including his sons’ teams. Coaching helps him stay connected to the same lessons he learned growing up.

Duron did not enter business through management roles. He started with hands-on work.

That type of problem-solving shaped his leadership style. He learned to stay calm, assess situations, and make decisions based on real conditions.

He also learned the importance of trust.

When you walk into someone’s home, they’re trusting you with something important,” he says. “You can’t take that lightly.

Duron co-founded Most Valuable Plumber with his family. They started small, taking on local jobs and focusing on quality work.

At the start, it was just us handling everything,” he says. “We were answering calls, doing the work, and following up ourselves.

There was no large marketing plan. Growth came from word of mouth.

Customers returned because the work was consistent.

If you solve the problem properly the first time, people remember that,” he says.

Over time, the company expanded across Los Angeles County. Today, it handles residential and small commercial work, from routine repairs to complex plumbing issues.

How Ignacio Duron Runs Operations Today

Duron’s role as CEO focuses on operations, scheduling, and team management. He coordinates crews and ensures service quality stays consistent.

But he stays close to the field.

I still check in on jobs and talk to the team regularly,” he says. “If something isn’t working, I want to see it myself.

That approach helps him catch problems early. It also keeps communication clear between leadership and technicians.

He also focuses on hiring carefully.

Early on, I rushed hiring because we needed help,” he says. “Some people had skills but didn’t fit the team. That created problems.

Now, he prioritises values like reliability and accountability.

While building the company, Duron continued his education. He earned an associate’s degree in Business Administration and Economics.

He is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Law at Arizona State University.

Running a business teaches you a lot, but education helps you understand why things work the way they do,” he says.

This combination of experience and education helps him make more informed decisions.

Why Skilled Trades Still Matter

Duron believes the skilled trades are often overlooked, even though they are essential to everyday life.

People don’t think about plumbing until something goes wrong,” he says. “But these systems are always working in the background.

Industry data supports his view. The demand for plumbers continues to grow as infrastructure ages and experienced workers retire.

Duron sees this as both a challenge and an opportunity.

There’s a real need for people who are willing to learn the trade and do the work properly,” he says.

Coaching and Community Impact

Outside of business, Duron spends time coaching youth sports. He sees coaching as a way to build confidence and discipline in young people.

You see kids improve over time just by staying consistent,” he says. “That same idea applies in work and life.

Coaching also reinforces his leadership style. Clear communication, patience, and accountability matter in both settings.

Duron’s career did not grow from a single breakthrough moment. It developed over time through consistent effort.

Most progress comes from doing the basics well every day,” he says.

From learning the trade to leading a growing company, each step built on the last.
