Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) Cohosts UK Tech Trade Delegation With Grow London Global
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) cohosts a UK tech delegation during the Tech Trade Mission to China 2025, alongside Grow London Global. The two-day Hong Kong visit connects 15 UK tech firms with key local stakeholders including Hong Kong Science Parks and Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund.
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) has reinforced its commitment to fostering international collaboration by co-hosting a high-profile UK tech trade delegation in March 2025. The delegation, part of the Tech Trade Mission to China 2025, included a two-day visit to Hong Kong (March 16–21) to explore partnerships with key stakeholders in the region’s thriving innovation and technology sector.
Organised by Grow London Global, an initiative under London & Partners (the official growth agency for London) and funded by the UK Government, the delegation comprised representatives from InvestHK’s London Office, London & Partners, and 15 leading UK tech companies. The mission aimed to strengthen economic ties, showcase UK innovation, and facilitate business opportunities in Hong Kong’s dynamic tech ecosystem.
During their visit, the delegation met with prominent organisations, including:
- British Consulate-General in Hong Kong
- British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong
- Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks
- Standard Chartered Ventures
- Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund
These engagements provided valuable insights into Hong Kong’s business landscape, enabling discussions on potential collaborations and investment prospects.
Strengthening economic and technological collaboration
InvestHK played a pivotal role in facilitating the mission, aligning with its broader objective of promoting Hong Kong as a global hub for innovation and investment. The visit not only deepened connections between UK and Hong Kong businesses but also highlighted the city’s strategic advantages, including its access to mainland China and robust financial infrastructure.
Ms Daisy Ip, Head of Business and Talent Attraction/Investment Promotion at InvestHK London Office, remarked:
"We are delighted to support the Grow London Global programme and this tech trade delegation to Hong Kong. Through the productive dialogues and exchanges during the visit, we hope to further strengthen the ties between the UK and Hong Kong and create new pathways for increased investment from the UK."
Opportunities for UK start-ups and scale-ups
The delegation’s interactions with industry experts and potential clients underscored the mutual benefits of UK-Hong Kong collaboration. Ms Jasmine Baker, Trade Manager, Fintech & Enterprise at London & Partners, noted:
"This Grow London Global tech trade mission has been a success, and mutually beneficial for our delegation and everyone we have met with. We have achieved our goals in fostering collaboration with the Hong Kong business ecosystem and hope to generate more opportunities and partnerships for London's most exciting companies."
Participants also expressed enthusiasm about the potential for expansion in Hong Kong. Mr Rohit Nair, Founder and CEO of Assureful, shared:
“It has been incredible to be a part of this Grow London Global tech trade mission. We have been introduced to so many members of Hong Kong's tech ecosystem. We will be going home with an enlarged sense of what is possible in this market and will be able to make choices about growth with more confidence.”
