Justin Brewer: From Sacred Heart Soccer to Startup Leadership
17 Jun 2026

How Justin Brewer Turned Discipline into Business Growth
Justin Brewer’s career started long before he launched a company. It started on the soccer field at Sacred Heart University.
Early practices. Long road trips. Film sessions before class.
That environment shaped how he thinks today.
“In college soccer, there was nowhere to hide,” Brewer says. “If you missed a run or lost focus for a few seconds, everyone noticed.”
Those lessons stayed with him as he moved into business. Years later, they would help shape the way he built Greenhub and approached leadership.
Sacred Heart University and the Foundation of Focus
Brewer attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where he earned a degree in Communications Technology. At the same time, he played NCAA Division I men’s soccer as a four-year starter.
Balancing academics and athletics required structure.
“You had training, classes, travel, and recovery all packed into one day,” he says. “You either learned time management fast or you fell behind.”
He remembers one particular film session after a difficult match.
“Our coach replayed the same defensive mistake five times,” Brewer says. “It was frustrating, but it taught me something important. Small details create big outcomes.”
That mindset would later influence how he handled business systems and operations.
Starting a Career in Sales and Marketing
After graduating in 2013, Brewer entered the professional world through sales and marketing roles. He joined YP.com as an Account Executive and worked closely with local businesses.
It gave him a direct view into entrepreneurship.
“I met owners who worked nonstop,” he says. “A lot of them were great at what they did, but the systems behind the scenes were messy.”
Later, he moved to Thomson Reuters FindLaw in Boston, where he worked with law firms across New England.
The experience exposed him to more complex business structures. Contracts were layered. Service costs were often difficult to track.
“That’s when I started noticing how much confusion existed around business systems,” Brewer says. “People were paying for things they didn’t fully understand.”
That observation stayed with him.
The Idea Behind Greenhub
Over time, Brewer became interested in simplifying complicated systems. He noticed that many business owners struggled to understand payment processing and related costs.
“If you don’t understand a system, you can’t control it,” he says. “And if you can’t control it, you can’t improve it.”
In 2019, he moved to Las Vegas and founded Greenhub.
The company focused on helping businesses better understand and manage payment systems. Brewer approached the business with the same mindset he learned through soccer—steady preparation and consistency.
“It wasn’t about chasing attention,” he says. “It was about solving a real problem.”
Building a Company Through Routine
The early days of Greenhub were demanding. Brewer handled sales, operations, onboarding, and client communication himself.
“I treated it like pre-season training,” he says. “You show up every day whether you feel like it or not.”
Routine became essential. Early mornings. Gym sessions five days a week. Structured work blocks.
“If my schedule falls apart, everything else starts slipping too,” he says.
That consistency helped Greenhub grow steadily in retail, e-commerce, and B2B markets.
In 2025, Brewer was recognised as a Vegas Inc 40 Under 40 honoree for leadership and business impact.
“It was a great honour,” he says. “But recognition isn’t the main focus. Building something reliable matters more.”
Leadership Lessons from Soccer
Brewer still connects many of his leadership habits back to his college soccer experience.
“In soccer, every player has a role,” he says. “When someone drifts out of position, the whole team feels it.”
He applies the same thinking to business operations. Clear communication. Defined responsibilities. Consistent review.
He also believes preparation reduces stress.
“In tight matches, the calmest teams usually perform best,” Brewer says. “Business works the same way. Preparation gives you confidence.”
That perspective has shaped his approach to leadership at Greenhub.
Finding Balance Outside of Work
Outside the office, Brewer spends time snowboarding, mountain biking, and travelling in his truck camper.
He sees outdoor activity as a reset button.
“When you’re riding through the mountains, you’re not thinking about emails or meetings,” he says. “It clears your head.”
Fitness also remains part of his routine.
“If I skip workouts, I notice it right away,” Brewer says. “Energy drops. Focus drops.”
He views physical discipline and business discipline as closely connected.
Teaching Others What He Has Learned
Brewer is now developing a merchant services course aimed at helping aspiring entrepreneurs understand systems and build long-term income opportunities.
“So many people want more flexibility,” he says. “But they don’t know where to start.”
His focus is on practical knowledge, not hype.
“Most people underestimate what steady effort can do,” he says. “Big results usually come from small actions repeated consistently.”
A Career Built on Clarity and Consistency
Justin Brewer’s path from Sacred Heart soccer player to founder was not built on shortcuts. It was built on discipline, routine, and steady execution.
From Connecticut soccer fields to leading a growing company in Las Vegas, his approach has stayed remarkably consistent.
“You don’t wait for perfect conditions,” he says. “You start where you are, stay focused, and keep improving.”
In a business world filled with distractions, Brewer’s story highlights something simpler and often more effective: consistency over noise.
