A new study by Linkee reveals the top 10 professions least likely to be replaced by AI based on automation risk, job growth, salary, and demand. Chief Executives top the list with only a 14% automation risk, followed closely by Architects and Event Planners. Human Resources and IT Project Managers show the highest projected job growth through 2033.

A recent study by Linkee highlights the professions least likely to be affected by artificial intelligence and automation. By evaluating automation risk, job growth rate, average salary, online search interest, and current job openings, the study identifies occupations that are most resilient in an AI-driven economy.

A spokesperson from Linkee states, "Roles requiring complex human judgment, emotional intelligence, and creative problem-solving remain largely protected from AI displacement across all industries. The strong growth projections for management positions, particularly in HR and IT, suggest that human oversight of increasingly automated processes will be vital as we navigate the evolving workplace landscape."

This study serves as a valuable resource for job seekers, professionals, and educators aiming to understand how the workplace is evolving under the influence of automation. It underscores the enduring value of human-centric capabilities in a technology-driven future.

Leadership, creativity, and human-centred roles prove most secure

According to the study, Chief Executives hold the strongest position in terms of AI resilience, with just a 14% automation risk. Their role, which involves strategic decision-making and high-level management, remains exceptionally challenging to automate. With an average annual salary of $206,680, this position also generates significant interest online, receiving close to one million monthly searches. Although the projected job growth rate stands at 5.5% through 2033, it reflects a steady and stable trajectory.

Creative professions also demonstrate notable resistance to automation. Architects face only an 18% displacement risk due to the technical and artistic requirements of their work. The role boasts a 7.8% job growth rate and offers an average salary of $93,310. With 19,000 current job openings, the sector maintains strong employment potential.

Event Planners, ranked third in the study, encounter just a 20% risk from automation. The position relies heavily on interpersonal communication, adaptability, and creative problem-solving. Although the average salary is comparatively modest at $56,920, monthly search interest reaches 356,250—indicating significant public awareness and engagement.

Communication, technical, and strategic management roles hold strong

Public Relations Managers follow with a 25% automation risk. The role demands advanced communication skills, crisis management, and strategic relationship handling. While the position records the lowest online search volume at 11,820, it offers a competitive salary of $134,760.

Information Technology (IT) Project Managers and Human Resources Managers share a 27% automation risk. These roles require a balance of leadership and contextual decision-making that resists full automation. IT Project Managers see a projected job growth of 10.8% by 2033, nearly double that of Chief Executives.

The role also combines technical knowledge with team leadership. Human Resources Managers lead in job growth projections with a 12% increase through 2033, the highest among the listed professions. They also command strong search interest with approximately 749,000 monthly searches, significantly higher than many other roles in the study.

Management Analysts rank next, facing a 28% displacement risk. They are projected to grow by 10.6% through 2033 and offer a reliable pathway for individuals seeking a role with both stability and relevance in an evolving job market. Despite their moderate search volume of 18,430, they represent a strong yet underappreciated opportunity.

Strategists, sales, and marketing roles also show resilience

Brand Strategists encounter a slightly higher automation risk at 34%. However, their responsibilities—such as creative thinking, stakeholder management, and market insight—remain difficult to replicate by machines. The role offers a competitive salary of $120,948 despite limited current openings (1,471), which are fewer than half of the opportunities available to Management Analysts.

Sales Managers follow with a 36% automation risk. While the growth rate is a moderate 5.9%, identical to that of Chief Executives, the number of job openings is significant—56,062 currently available positions. This figure is second only to Marketing Managers and indicates high demand in the sector.

Marketing Managers complete the top ten list with a 38% risk of AI displacement—the highest among the most secure jobs identified. Nevertheless, the role provides substantial rewards, with an average annual salary of $157,620. It also leads in employment opportunities, with 62,341 job openings currently available. The role’s focus on market analysis, strategic planning, and creative direction contributes to its continued relevance.
