- The Maheshwari Global Convention (MGC 2026) and its companion Maheshwari Global Expo (MGE 2026) is scheduled for 09–11 January 2026 at the Marwar Convention Centre in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
- The flagship initiative of Akhil Bharatvarshiya Maheshwari Mahasabha aims to bring together business leaders, innovators, cultural custodians and young entrepreneurs from across the world.
- The convention and expo, organised by the Jodhpur Jila Maheshwari Sabha and hosted by the Paschimi Rajasthan Pradeshik Maheshwari Sabha, will showcase the Maheshwari community’s heritage of enterprise while opening doors to new ideas, markets and collaborations.
The Maheshwari community traces its roots to the Marwar region of Rajasthan and has, for centuries, embodied resilience and integrity. From humble shops in the desert to multinational corporations, Maheshwari entrepreneurs have become “innovators, catalysts of social change, and proud nation‑builders”.
“The Maheshwari community was born by the blessings of Lord Shiva. It is spread in 493 districts of India and more than 45 countries, globally. Maheshwari communities have inherent business skills with morality, sincerity. It is right now a major contributor in the GDP of India as a business community”, says Sandeep Kabra, National President, All India Maheshwari Mahasabha in a recent episode of the Dinis Guarda YouTube podcast.
The 2026 convention seeks to unite the community on a single platform to address the social, cultural and economic challenges of the 21st century.
“Maheshwari Global Convention is the convention of the marwaris from all over the globe and this is our second time. The first convention in Jaipur in 2019 brought about 25 to 30,000 people from all over the globe.
In 2026, on January 9, 10th, 11th, we hope from about more than 30 countries and 430 districts from India - 50,000 plus participants in this convention.
This convention is not just to show our strength or any kind of political movement. It is 100% for the upliftment and betterment of the society”, explains Sandeep.
The third edition of the Maheshwari Global Expo anticipates more than 600+ exhibitors and 15+ seminars or business meets.
By encouraging discussion on future‑ready business strategies, safeguarding cultural values and celebrating continuous progress, MGC 2026 reinforces the belief that “one who dreams most does the most”. Delegates will explore the theme of “Unlimited Opportunities”, highlighting the idea that even a thriving community has room to do more for its people and the nation.
The expo and convention are open to all, welcoming participation from across sectors and communities.
With planned seminars covering topics from legacy industries to start‑ups, and a dedicated Trisarg platform where budding entrepreneurs can pitch for funding, the expo will be a dynamic marketplace for ideas and investments.

About the Maheshwari Community
Maheshwaris trace their lineage back 300–350 years to Marwar, when their entrepreneurial spirit led them to venture across India in search of opportunities. Today the community is known for its contributions to commerce, industry and philanthropy. The convention underscores the community’s resilience and ethical foundations, emphasising that Maheshwaris are “a globally respected force in industry and commerce”. By convening members from around the world and inviting participation from non‑Maheshwari partners, MGC 2026 aims to strengthen global ties while preserving the community’s core values.
Impact on Jodhpur: A Transformative Moment for the “Sun City”
Hosting MGC 2026 in Jodhpur is strategically significant. Nicknamed the “Sun City” for its bright, cloudless weather, Jodhpur is not only a heritage destination but also a thriving industrial hub.
According to India’s Ministry of MSME, Jodhpur’s economy is built around five major industrial clusters: textile, handicraft, guar gum, stainless‑steel utensils and stone processing. The city also leads India’s furniture and handicraft exports—media reports note that Jodhpur accounts for 25–30% of the country’s furniture exports, highlighting its dominant position in handcrafted furniture and giftware. By drawing thousands of business delegates to these sectors, the convention and expo will offer local manufacturers unprecedented international visibility.
Jodhpur also plays an important role in India’s energy transition. The Bhadla Solar Park, situated roughly 200 km from the city, covers 56 square kilometres and has an installed capacity of 2,245 MW, making it India’s largest solar park and the 11th‑largest in the world. The convention’s focus on sustainable technologies aligns perfectly with this regional strength.
Beyond business, Jodhpur’s heritage is a major draw. The Mehrangarh Fort, built around 1459 by Rao Jodha, dominates the skyline on a hill 400 feet (122 m) above the Thar Desert and is considered one of India’s largest forts. The city is also home to Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the world’s largest private residences with 347 rooms, part of which functions as a museum. These landmarks, along with vibrant markets and Marwari cuisine, ensure that delegates and visitors experience a rich cultural tapestry alongside business proceedings.
