Pacsun Launches PS Goodnight, a New Gen Z Sleep and Loungewear Brand
21 Sept 2026

The 41-piece collection is shaped by findings from Pacsun’s 2026 Youth Report and direct input from Gen Z consumers, expanding the retailer further into fashion designed around comfort, mood and self-expression.
21 September 2026 — Pacsun has launched PS Goodnight, a new sleep and loungewear brand created around how Gen Z approaches comfort, personal style and dressing at home.
The debut collection includes 41 pieces, ranging from pajama separates and coordinated sets to pointelle, lace, brushed flannel and satin styles. Apparel is priced between $25 and $55, while eye masks retail for $20.
Rather than treating sleepwear as a purely functional category, Pacsun has positioned PS Goodnight as a wardrobe that can move between sleeping, lounging and everyday wear. The collection features relaxed silhouettes alongside lace trims, ruffled hems, satin bows, contrast piping, heart-shaped shell buttons and embroidered details.
Built around Gen Z behaviour

The launch draws on Pacsun’s newly released 2026 Youth Report, developed with GlobalData and based on responses from 6,126 Gen Z and Gen Alpha consumers aged 11 to 24 across the US.
The research found a strong connection between appearance and emotion, with 69.2% of respondents saying how they look has a direct impact on how they feel, while more than half said appearance can influence their behaviour.
That insight sits at the centre of PS Goodnight.
Richard Cox, Chief Merchandising Officer at Pacsun, said the brand reflects the idea that young consumers are increasingly dressing not only for appearance, but also for mood and emotional comfort.
Getting dressed isn’t only about how they look, it’s also about how they want to feel.
For Pacsun, sleep and loungewear provide a natural category in which comfort and self-expression can overlap.
Sleepwear is becoming part of everyday fashion
The launch reflects a broader shift in how younger consumers treat categories once confined to the home.
Loungewear, pajama-inspired dressing and soft separates increasingly move between private and public settings, particularly as consumers prioritise comfort without abandoning styling or visual identity.
PS Goodnight has been designed around that flexibility. Pieces are intended to be mixed and matched rather than worn exclusively as fixed sleep sets, allowing the collection to function more like a broader casual wardrobe.
That approach also gives Pacsun room to extend its relationship with Gen Z beyond streetwear and activewear into another part of everyday life.
Co-creation plays a bigger role in product development
Pacsun says the collection was shaped not only by survey data but also by direct input from young consumers through its Youth Council and PS Community Hub.
These platforms allow consumers to contribute feedback around products, trends and brand direction, giving Pacsun another layer of insight beyond conventional market research.
The company is extending that model further through a new Ambassador Program, creating additional ways for young consumers to influence product development and brand experience.
For PS Goodnight, that feedback helped inform how younger shoppers think about sleepwear and loungewear within their wider wardrobes.
The strategy reflects a broader change in fashion retail, where brands increasingly use communities, social platforms and direct feedback to shorten the distance between trend identification and product development.
The campaign leans into softness and escapism
The launch campaign introduces PS Goodnight through a playful, dreamlike visual world built around winding down.
Campaign imagery includes pillow fights, slow mornings and relaxed at-home moments, while mix-and-match styling reinforces the idea that the range is not limited to traditional coordinated sleepwear.
Two bunnies also appear across selected campaign images, adding a more whimsical element to the visual identity.
The tone is deliberately feminine and playful, aligning with wider fashion trends around softness, nostalgia and romantic detailing.
Pacsun expands beyond its core categories
PS Goodnight also represents a category expansion for Pacsun.
The retailer has traditionally been associated with contemporary fashion, streetwear and youth-driven collaborations, but the new label gives it a dedicated position in sleep and loungewear.
That move allows Pacsun to capture more occasions within the same customer’s wardrobe rather than relying only on traditional fashion categories.
The strategy is particularly relevant as retailers look for ways to deepen relationships with younger consumers through lifestyle-led ranges rather than single-category products.
By developing PS Goodnight as a distinct brand rather than simply adding sleepwear into its existing assortment, Pacsun is also creating space for the category to develop its own identity, campaign language and community.
Data is becoming part of fashion merchandising
The use of Pacsun’s Youth Report also highlights how consumer research is becoming increasingly integrated into merchandising decisions.
Rather than using trend data only after a collection launches, the company is combining survey findings with community feedback earlier in the development process.
That gives Pacsun a clearer view of how emotional behaviour, identity and fashion intersect for younger consumers.
For retailers competing for Gen Z attention, that kind of insight can be valuable because preferences are increasingly shaped across social media, entertainment, wellness and lifestyle culture at the same time.
PS Goodnight therefore sits at the intersection of product design and behavioural research.
Available now
PS Goodnight is currently available through selected Pacsun stores and online.
The first 41-piece collection gives Pacsun a foundation from which to build the category while testing how strongly younger consumers respond to sleepwear positioned as part of everyday fashion rather than solely as a bedtime product.
If the launch gains traction, the brand could become another example of how fashion retailers are using direct consumer insight to create new categories around how people actually live, rather than around traditional definitions of when and where clothing should be worn.
