The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is launching a new virtual event series, Common Grounds, which will convene one Republican leader and one Democratic leader to explore important issues or challenges facing the business community and the nation. These conversations will identify opportunities for consensus on timely issues, examine and explain legitimate policy differences, and pursue pathways to compromise and meaningful solutions. The first event on Tuesday, February 23 (11:00am ET) will feature Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) and Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) in conversation with U.S. Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley. The forum will focus on infrastructure—one of the business community’s top policy priorities and one of the most effective ways to jumpstart the economy—as well as other important topics related to business growth and economic recovery.

“Now more than ever, we need leaders in both parties to pursue common ground and forge real solutions to our nation's challenges,” said Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“Through the Common Grounds series, we will spotlight elected officials who demonstrate the courage to work across the aisle to get things done, and in doing so, show that civility, consensus, and bipartisan cooperation still exist in Washington.” Bradley added:

“Representatives Seth Moulton and Rodney Davis exemplify the bold, bipartisan approach to governing that will be required to accelerate the economic recovery and forge real and lasting solutions to the challenges facing America’s job creators. We are honored to welcome them to help kick off this new dialogue series.”

The U.S. Chamber is proud to partner on the event series with Compass Coffee, a fast-growing, proudly Washington D.C.-based coffee roaster founded by two Marines. In addition, the U.S. Chamber is pleased to co-host the first virtual event in partnership with the Neponset River Regional Chamber in order to engage and elevate the voices of local business leaders. The Common Grounds series builds on the U.S. Chamber’s Bipartisanship and Leadership Awards program, which recognizes members of Congress who demonstrate bipartisan leadership and constructive governing. In many cases, Common Grounds events will be hosted in partnership with local and state chambers of commerce across the country. The event series was first announced during the U.S. Chamber's signature annual event, the 2021 State of American Business. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy. Our members range from the small businesses and local chambers of commerce that line the Main Streets of America to leading industry associations and large corporations. They all share one thing: They count on the U.S. Chamber to be their voice in Washington, across the country, and around the world. For more than 100 years, we have advocated for pro-business policies that help businesses create jobs and grow our economy.
