The company was formerly known as Prime Sun Power Inc. and changed its name to 3Power Energy Group, Inc. in March 2011. 3Power Energy Group, Inc. was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

3Power Energy Group was founded in 2008 with the goal of providing efficient and reliable energy solutions to the Southeast. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the largest providers of power generation, transmission, and distribution services in the region.
