History

Alkem Laboratories was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Mumbai. The company started by manufacturing bulk drugs and gradually grew into a full-range pharmaceuticals company. In 2006, the company went public with an Initial Public Offering, and became the first Indian pharmaceutical company to reach Rs. 5000 crore market capitalization mark in 2014. Over the years, the company has expanded its reach by establishing manufacturing plants and marketing offices in various countries.
