Indian fashion designer Amit GT is renowned for his eponymous luxury fashion house across the world. “While I was studying in National institute Of Fashion Technology I won an Award for Excellence in Design. Soon after winning this award I made a capsule collection and started stocking it at Ffolio Store in Bangalore and then at Melange and Ensemble in Mumbai” the designer told Pernia's Pop Up. 

“The competition among designers in Hollywood is much fierce as compared to Bollywood as all top designers vie for their attention. Amit GT is a relatively younger luxury brand so when actresses choose my brand over the seasoned luxury brands who are always eager to dress them up it naturally feels wonderful” he tells Times Of India.

Amit GT is unpretentious yet elegant and decadent. “The Victorian Corsetry detail gown that Jacqueline Fernandez and Ashely Benson wore. A finale puff ball peach gown from my collection that was made with millions of confetti sized silk organza and sewn together to create texture as delicate as a flower.. Bow tie pillar gown in black and silver metallic silk taffeta and goth inspired black mesh and bone dresses were also one of the most remarkable pieces, a pink duchesse satin gown with long detachable train is a timeless piece too" Amit Gupta tells Pernia's Pop Up when asked about his favourite styles.

The couturier believes that Fashion is heading in a different direction now with comfort and style given equal importance. “Consumers are now reshaping the market with a desire for comfortable and versatile — yet statement-worthy ensembles. More than any previous generation, the Gen-Z trend cycle is so much more accelerated where something that was trendy six months ago or three months ago has become quickly ubiquitous, discussed, and unpacked” he tells Fashion Network.

Per Explosive Fashion: "Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and art, particularly Sumi-e paintings that depict regional landscape, lilies and birds were dominant hand-embroidered motifs and textures on the fairytale evening gowns. I've always looked up to him as a master at engaging textural effects and embellishment to create dimension within simple planes and here too he used hand braided floral details and embroideries that gave the impression of brush strokes — inspired by Sumi-e art which employs the technique of using ink with brushes."
