Dr. Annette Doms developed an early interest in art, technology, and their intersection. She pursued her higher education at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Art History, with minor studies in Psychology, Archaeology, and Italian Philology. Her academic background laid the foundation for her future work in digital art and technology.
After completing her PhD, Dr. Doms began her professional career in the art world. She worked as the Gallery Director at Nusser & Baumgart from November 2007 to May 2012, managing contemporary art exhibitions and artists. This role involved overseeing gallery operations, artist management, exhibition organisation, and art sales, focusing on contemporary art in various forms, including painting, drawing, photography, video, and installation.
In 2013, Dr. Doms co-founded UNPAINTED, Germany's first fair dedicated to digital art, and served as the Artistic Director until 2017. During this time, the fair grew to feature over 50 exhibitors from around the world, showcasing the evolving relationship between art and technology. It included panel discussions, performances, and lectures, exploring the impact of digital technologies on the art world.
In 2015, Dr. Doms became the CEO and Director of Future Business at ICAA Strategists GmbH, a consultancy firm specialising in digital transformation through Web3, AI, Metaverse, and Blockchain. She has continued in this role, advising companies on implementing these technologies to enhance business operations and secure a competitive edge in the rapidly changing digital landscape.
Dr. Doms has been involved in a range of educational and advisory roles. In 2019, she began her work as a Tech Evangelist and Keynote Speaker, delivering presentations on the impact of emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and the Metaverse on business. Her talks have been delivered at events organised by companies like Microsoft, UBS, and DekaBank.
In 2022, Dr. Doms became an Advisory Board Member at XRXplorer School, a project focused on integrating XR (Extended Reality) technologies in education to help schools redesign lessons and create immersive learning environments. She continues to serve in this role, contributing to the development of educational strategies that integrate new technologies.
Dr. Doms also worked as a University Lecturer at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2019 to 2024, teaching a seminar on the History of Digital Art. The seminar focused on the evolution of digital art, from the early days of plotter drawings to the present development of generative art and AI. This academic role allowed her to share her expertise with students and help them understand the changing landscape of art in the digital era.
In 2024, Dr. Doms expanded her professional portfolio by becoming a Partner at NFTBEE, a platform specialising in blockchain and NFT-based solutions. Her work at NFTBEE involves contributing to social media app development, blockchain integration, and wallet connection for NFT platforms.
Additionally, Dr. Doms has been involved in several other initiatives and projects, such as serving as an Expert Board Member at Web3 World Society and INLUX. These roles allow her to contribute to the development of strategies related to Web3 consulting, digital transformation, and teamwork.
At present, Dr. Doms continues to hold significant positions in various technology-driven projects, including her work as the Vice President at VENTURE AI GERMANY, where she helps secure the country’s future through AI-driven innovation. She is also actively engaged in education and consultancy, guiding businesses and individuals on how to leverage cutting-edge technologies to drive progress.
