In May 2000, the boutique investment bank Arbuthnot Securities was acquired by Arden Partners plc and the new merged entity became known as Arden Partners. This merger created an enlarged, full-service corporate finance and stock broking firm, acting as adviser to clients across the full spectrum of corporate finance, equity and debt markets. The acquisition of Arbuthnot Securities also saw Arden Partners become one of the few medium-sized independent investment banks still operating in the City of London.
