1994: Abloy merged with its Swedish main competitor ASSA, the world’s leading lock group, forming ASSA ABLOY. The businesses merged to pool their expertise and meet the ever-expanding market. The two joined forces in order to better serve their customers and grow the company. The company was founded and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

2002: Besam became part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.

2003: Raine decided to share his fascination with these wonderful things, and in a meeting with ASSA ABLOY the idea was born to create a dynamic, web-based platform for locks and keys based on Raine’s collection and writings.

2006: The Entrance Systems division was formed.

2011: Crawford became part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.

2012: Albany became part of the ASSA ABLOY Group.

2017: The collective knowledge and resources from each of these companies are unified under the ASSA ABLOY brand.
