
Attijariwafa bank traces its roots back to 1907 when the Banque du Maroc was established in Morocco. Since then, the bank has grown to become one of the largest providers of financial services in Africa and the Arab world. In 2004, Attijariwafa bank became the first Moroccan bank to be listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, and in 2009 the bank acquired a controlling stake in Société Générale Marocaine de Banque, thus becoming the largest lender in Morocco. Today, Attijariwafa bank is present in 26 countries, serving more than 6.4 million customers.
