History

Aurobindo Pharma was founded in 1986 by K Nityananda Reddy. He began by manufacturing a single acid compound, and slowly moved towards one of the first manufacturers of generic pharmaceuticals in India. Aurobindo was a pioneer in the industry, quickly expanding its products globally within a few years. In 1999, Aurobindo merged with Alembic, one of India’s oldest pharmaceutical companies.
