This segments Avaya OneCloud CPaaS solutions combines the cloud with its communications platforms, which enables developers to integrate both UCC and CC communications capabilities directly into internal and customer-facing applications and workflows. The Services segment provides global support services, enterprise cloud and managed services, and professional services. The company also offers business devices, such as IP-enabled handsets, multimedia devices, and conferencing systems. It sells directly through its sales force, as well as indirectly through its network of channel partners, including distributors, service providers, dealers, value-added resellers, system integrators, and business partners. The company has a strategic collaboration with RingCentral, Inc. to accelerate the company's transition to the cloud. Avaya Holdings Corp. is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina.

History

In 1995, Lucent Technologies was spun off from AT&T, and Lucent subsequently spun off units of its own in an attempt to restructure its struggling operations.

Avaya was then spun off from Lucent as its own company in 2000 . It remained a public company from 2000 to 2007. In October 2007, Avaya was acquired by two private-equity firms, TPG Capital and Silver Lake Partners, for $8.2 billion.On January 19, 2017, Avaya filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.On December 15, 2017, it once again became a public company, trading under the NYSE stock ticker AVYA.
