1904 - BD introduces the Luer-Lok syringe, which is designed to securely lock the needle onto the syringe, preventing it from coming off during use.

1924 - BD introduces the first sterile disposable syringe, which helps to prevent the spread of infections in healthcare settings.

1940 - BD begins manufacturing plastic products, including test tubes and petri dishes, which become popular in scientific research and medical laboratories.

1953 - BD introduces the Vacutainer blood collection system, which uses a vacuum tube and needle to draw blood from a patient.
