Bluelinx Corporation was formed in 2002 through the merger of Building Materials Holding Corporation and Dayton Superior Corporation. Building Materials Holding Corporation was formed in 1998 to manage the residential building products activities of Westfalia Holding and Stevens Industries, which pulled together individual distributors with long legacies in their respective regions and markets.
