Boston Properties was founded in 1992 by Mortimer B. Zuckerman, Edward H. Linde and Robert B. Remis. In 1993, they acquired their first property—1400 16th Street NW in Washington, DC—for $83 million. Since then, the company has steadily expanded its portfolio, and as of the first quarter of 2021, the company owns 103 properties across the US and Germany.
