Summary

Bruce Dell is an inventor and entrepreneur established two technology companies with a combined valuation of over $120 million and employs more than 100 people across these ventures.

He is the founder and CEO of Axiom Holographics, a company specialising in hologram technology and 3D projection systems.

The company develops advanced holographic hardware, such as rooms, tables, arcade machines, and stage displays. Its technology serves diverse sectors including education, defence, tourism, and retail. Axiom enables collaborative 3D visualisation beyond traditional VR limitations.

Axiom Holographics serves clients such as Bentley, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Hong Kong Airport. It also operates Holoverse, a chain of entertainment centres offering holographic games and experiences for families.

At Axiom Holographics, Dell’s work focuses on making 3D and holographic technologies more accessible and practical without the need for high-end computing systems. A key advantage of his technology is that it allows multiple people to view and interact with 3D holograms collaboratively, unlike VR headsets, which isolate users.

His work also includes several inventions and patents, most notably the unlimited detail algorithm, which allows highly efficient processing of 3D data. This algorithm is used by organisations such as Leica, the French railway system, and the Tokyo traffic authority. Bruce also had a leadership role at Euclideon Pty Ltd until 2019.

Biography

Bruce Dell was born in Australia. His early interest in computers and technology developed during his school years, which led him to explore graphics, programming, and algorithm design from a young age. In the early 1990s, he began working on creating new ways to manage and display 3D data. This work would later become the foundation for a career focused on developing holographic and visual simulation technologies.

In 1995, Bruce Dell founded Unlimited Detail, a company focused on solving limitations in 3D computer graphics. His major contribution was the development of a new search-based rendering algorithm, referred to as the Unlimited Detail algorithm. Unlike traditional polygon-based rendering used in most video games and simulation software, his algorithm used a point cloud-based system to locate and show only the visible parts of a dataset.

This allowed massive 3D models to be viewed in real time on relatively low-performance machines, removing the need for expensive graphics hardware. Between 1995 and 2010, Dell refined the algorithm, filed patents, and demonstrated its applications in gaming and simulation.

In 2010, Bruce Dell became the CEO of Euclideon Pty Ltd, a Brisbane-based company he founded to commercialise the Unlimited Detail technology. Euclideon received attention from the global technology and gaming sectors. The company focused on using the point cloud rendering system for industries including mining, surveying, architecture, and urban planning.

In 2013, Euclideon released Geoverse, a product used to visualise massive point cloud datasets generated by laser scanning and LiDAR. These tools were used by engineering firms, transport departments, and government bodies for infrastructure projects and 3D city planning. The algorithm also powered applications used by companies such as Leica, the French railway system, and the Tokyo traffic authority.

Between 2010 and 2019, under Dell’s leadership, Euclideon also developed hologram table technology and created demo installations to showcase their potential for real-time, multi-user 3D viewing without VR headsets. This included demonstration projects in sectors such as defence, smart cities, and logistics.

In 2019, Bruce Dell transitioned into his next venture by founding Axiom Holographics, where he continues to serve as CEO. Axiom Holographics builds on his previous work and has expanded significantly. The company develops and supplies a wide range of holographic devices and environments, including hologram rooms, hologram walls, holographic tables, and stage holograms for live performances and events. The technology is used across multiple sectors including aviation, defence, entertainment, education, and urban planning.

One of Axiom Holographics’ most notable consumer-facing projects is Holoverse, a global chain of holographic entertainment centres that offer immersive 3D gaming and educational experiences. Holoverse centres have appeared in various cities and are designed for children, families, and educational groups. These centres allow users to walk through holographic environments, interact with animals, space environments, or historical settings.

Axiom's customers include high-profile organisations such as Bentley, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Hong Kong Airport. The company's devices are also used to simulate dangerous environments, such as war zones or emergency response scenarios, helping organisations prepare without putting lives at risk.

As of 2025, Bruce Dell leads a team of over 100 employees across his ventures, and his companies have been valued at over $120 million. He has filed multiple patents in the fields of 3D rendering and holography and has contributed significantly to how data is visualised in real time. His technology offers an alternative to traditional rendering and virtual reality, allowing collaborative holographic experiences without the use of headsets.

Dell has not published any major books to date but has been featured in numerous technology reports, media articles, and industry presentations for his work on holography and 3D rendering. His innovations have appeared in public demonstrations, company showcases, and industry conferences related to gaming, infrastructure, and digital visualisation.

Currently, Bruce Dell continues his work at Axiom Holographics in Brisbane, Queensland, focusing on the expansion of holographic applications for both business and public use. His mission is to make advanced holography accessible and practical for everyday use, from education and retail to defence and transport.

Vision

Bruce Dell’s vision is to make holographic technology a useful and affordable part of everyday life. He aims to move beyond traditional screens and create 3D experiences that help people learn, plan, design, and communicate better. Through his company, Axiom Holographics, he works to build tools that can be used in schools, businesses, hospitals, museums, and entertainment centres. His goal is to replace old ways of showing information with clear, interactive holograms that many people can view together without special glasses. He believes holograms can change how we see and understand the world around us.

Recognition and Awards

Bruce Dell has received global attention for his work in 3D data and hologram development. His Unlimited Detail algorithm gained praise from experts in the gaming and simulation industries for making large-scale 3D graphics run on low-powered devices. His work has been recognised by companies like Leica and used in major systems like the French rail network and Tokyo’s traffic authority. Under his leadership, Axiom Holographics has supplied advanced holographic devices to respected names such as Airbus and Lockheed Martin.
