History

Byggmax was founded in 1993 and opened its first store in Norrköping in February 1995. In March 2000, the company went public after a successful IPO on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The company has since increased its brick-and-mortar presence to more than 90 stores across Sweden, with the latest opening in Västerås in 2019.
