Carles’ career started at Mango, where he was responsible for managing a €400 million budget and overseeing the production of 80 million garments annually. His leadership in supply chain management led to significant improvements in quality, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
 

Carles holds a Master's degree in Manufacturing Operations Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and completed an executive education course in Corporate Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Biography

Carles Solà-Vila spent much of his life navigating the intersection of technology, fashion, and digital transformation. After completing his studies in Industrial Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, he continued his education by earning a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Operations Management. His educational foundation set the stage for a career that would span multiple industries, with a focus on transforming businesses through technology.
 

In the early stages of his career, Carles worked at Unilever as a Project Engineering & Training Manager from 1998 to 2000. During this time, he contributed to the development of Magnum ice cream products, and introduced key performance indicators to optimise production lines, achieving significant savings for the company.


From 2001 to 2004, Carles worked at Autoliv, a multinational automotive safety manufacturer, where he implemented Lean manufacturing principles, such as Just-In-Time (JIT) systems and Kanban, improving efficiency and customer satisfaction in the production process.
 

Carles then moved to the fashion industry, taking on senior roles at major companies. He joined Mango in 2004, where he became the Product Supply Chain & Quality Director. Here, he managed an annual €400 million budget and oversaw the production of 80 million garment units, contributing to operational improvements and significant cost reductions. This experience helped Carles hone his expertise in supply chain management, quality control, and product delivery.
 

In 2011, Carles took on a role as the Buying Director at Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers. In this capacity, he managed a €500 million budget and implemented 3D design technologies that reduced lead times and improved communication across the company’s vast supply chain.
 

Between 2014 and 2019, Carles worked at Burberry as the Director of Digital Transformation, Product Engineering & Quality. He led initiatives to integrate digital solutions with traditional luxury fashion, focusing on improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experiences, and driving growth across EMEA and Asia. He also oversaw cross-functional teams and vendor selection, ensuring the company remained competitive in the rapidly changing digital landscape.
 

In 2019, Carles joined Ralph Lauren as Senior Director for Quality & Global ME, where he was responsible for driving digital transformation across the supply chain. He led cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency while focusing on automation and supplier enablement.
 

In 2023, Carles co-founded Artdott, where he serves as CEO. Artdott is a company dedicated to accelerating digital transformation in the art world. By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as AI, spatial computing, and immersive experiences, Carles aims to transform traditional spaces into dynamic environments where art, technology, and culture intersect.
