NFC was established in 1958 and at the beginning is primarily engaged in the consulting and contracting services in nonferrous metal mineral resources exploration and exploiting fields. With the support of the Chinese government, NFC expanded its business range to hydropower, railway, highway, water conservancy, harbor construction and aviation projects.
