Further, the company exports auxiliary materials and spare parts to the overseas investment companies; imports products manufactured by the overseas resource enterprises, as well as nonferrous minerals for smelting enterprises; sells products manufactured from the overseas projects; and purchases and sells raw materials and products demanded by domestic shareholding companies. Additionally, it trades in nonferrous metal products consisting of copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, rare earth oxides, etc. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Beijing, the People's Republic of China.

NFC was established in 1958 and at the beginning is primarily engaged in the consulting and contracting services in nonferrous metal mineral resources exploration and exploiting fields. With the support of the Chinese government, NFC expanded its business range to hydropower, railway, highway, water conservancy, harbor construction and aviation projects.
