The China West Construction Group Co. Ltd. was founded in 1952, with the approval of the government of the People's Republic of China. The company began by providing design, engineering, and construction consultation for projects in the Beijing area, but soon expanded its reach nationwide. In the 1970s, the company began adding departments specializing in more advanced engineering and civil works, such as bridge construction, railway repair, and tunnel building.
