History

2004: Digital Realty Trust® is built on the foundation of digital trust with core values driven by customer-centricity, excellence, and teamwork.

2006: In August, the company acquired a property in Phoenix, Arizona for $175 million.

2010: In January, the company acquired three data centres in Massachusetts and Connecticut for $375 million.

2012: The company acquired a 334,000-square-foot data centre near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for $63 million in a leaseback transaction.

2013: In April, the company acquired the data centre of Delta Air Lines in Eagan, Minnesota for $37 million in a leaseback transaction.

2015: The company acquired Telx for $1.886 billion.

2016: The company acquired 8 data centres in Europe from Equinix for $874 million.

2017: In March, the company announced a $22 million expansion of its data centre in Atlanta. In September, the company completed the acquisition of DuPont Fabros Technology.

2018: In December, the company acquired Ascenty for $1.8 billion.

2019: In October, Digital Realty announced the acquisition of European data centre provider Interxion for $8.4 billion to “create a leading global provider of the data centre, colocation and interconnection solutions”.

2021: Digital Realty announced that the company's headquarters relocated to Austin, Texas.

2022: The company announced a 55% stake acquisition in Teraco Data Centres.
