History

DSV, a Danish transport and logistics company, was founded in 1976 by ten independent hauliers who wanted to combine their resources to better serve their customers. The company's name, DSV, stands for De Sammensluttede Vognmænd, which translates to "The Consolidated Hauliers" in English.

In its early years, DSV focused on road transport, serving customers in Denmark and the surrounding Scandinavian countries. The company quickly gained a reputation for exceptional customer service and reliability, which helped it to expand its operations and grow its customer base.

In the 1980s, DSV expanded its operations to include air and sea freight services, enabling it to offer a comprehensive range of transport and logistics solutions to its customers. During this period, the company also began to establish a presence outside of Scandinavia, setting up offices in Germany and other parts of Europe.

In the 1990s, DSV continued to expand its global footprint, establishing a presence in Asia and North America. It also began to focus on supply chain management and warehousing services, offering customers a complete end-to-end solution for their logistics needs. In 1996, the company went public, listing its shares on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

In the early 2000s, DSV continued its expansion, acquiring several companies in Europe and Asia to strengthen its presence in key markets. In 2011, the company acquired ABX Logistics, a Belgian transport and logistics company, which helped it to further expand its operations in Europe and North America.

In 2013, DSV made its largest acquisition to date, acquiring UTi Worldwide, a global supply chain services and logistics company. The acquisition helped DSV to expand its operations in Asia and South America and further strengthen its position in North America and Europe.

In recent years, DSV has continued to grow its operations, with a focus on sustainability and reducing its environmental impact.
