History

The company was founded on 16th April 1895 in Stuttgart by Albert Dürr who, together with a partner, constructed a machine for the production of precision screws. His first machines were sold to a clock-maker, a gun-smith and a coach maker, later orders came from the automobile and optical industry, from machine makers and from engineering and rendering works. In the following years, the business developed rapidly, through the introduction of new processes and products.
