In the early years, the primary product lines included vehicle parts and axles, followed by products like transmission devices, motors, and switches, which have been pillars of the company’s business ever since. In the 1950s, Eaton began expanding into electrical products, launching its Cutler-Hammer line of industrial automation equipment, power distribution, and power control. In the 1970s and 1980s, Eaton’s focus shifted to the Americas, acquiring business in Canada and the US, such as the Billings Electric Motor Company, Cutler-Hammer, and the Vickers Hydraulics Company.
