Efes Beverage Group was founded in 1969 in Istanbul, Turkey. In the early years, the company made and sold a range of soft drinks and bottled beer. During the course of the following decades, Efes has grown to become one of the largest independent brewing groups in the world. In 2012, Efes’s market value exceeded $7 billion, with more than 8,000 employees and annual sales of 1.3 billion liters.
