In addition, it engages in manufacture, wholesale, retail sale, operation, and maintenance of solar panels. The company was formerly known as Tractebel Energia S.A. and changed its name to Engie Brasil Energia S.A. in July 2016. The company was incorporated in 2005 and is headquartered in Florianópolis, Brazil. Engie Brasil Energia S.A. operates as a subsidiary of ENGIE Brasil Participações Ltda.

History

ENGIE Brasil is part of the ENGIE group, one of the largest energy companies in the world and Europe's number one in renewable energy. Present in Brazil since 1995, ENGIE is the largest independent power producer and the state of Rio de Janeiro leader in electricity distribution. The company has approximately 6,400 MW in 15 assets, related to electricity generation and distribution, as well as 6.7 million points of delivery of gas.
