Entergy Arkansas, LLC, which distributes electricity to approximately 705,000 customers in 63 counties in Arkansas and is a unit of Entergy Corporation, based in New Orleans, La., is an integrated energy company engaged mainly in electric power production and retail distribution operations. It operates in two segments, Electric Utility and Enexus Energy III. The Electric Utility segment is engaged primarily in the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electric power. The Enexus Energy III segment is engaged primarily in the sale of natural gas.

History

Entergy Arkansas, LLC was founded in 1913 as Arkansas Power and Light Company. Entergy Corporation purchased Arkansas Power and Light Company in 1989 and currently, Entergy Arkansas LLC is the second largest electric utility in Arkansas, providing power for some 705,000 customers in 63 counties, covering more than 133,000 square miles of area in the state.
