History
Founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès, the company was first known as Hermès Frères and operated as a harness workshop in Paris. The business then expanded to include leather saddles and leather goods, and eventually evolved into a fashion house, introducing the iconic Kelly and Birkin bags in the early 1900s. In the late 20th century, the company shifted its focus to luxury items and began to expand globally. Today, Hermès is a leading luxury brand, offering high-end products such as clothing, accessories and homeware in stores around the world.
