History

Flywire, formerly peerTransfer, was founded in 2009 by Iker Marcaide and Miles Witt. In 2012, the company received $22M in Series A funding to expand its cross-border payment technology. In 2014, Flywire announced a $15M Series B investment led by Spark Capital. The company later received a $60M Series C investment from Bain Capital Ventures and Temasek in 2016.
