Frederic Laluyaux began his entrepreneurial journey in 1993 when he founded Transcribe Technologies, where he served as CEO until 1997. This early experience established his foundation in enterprise technology and software innovation.
He later joined ALG Software, where he held a series of senior leadership roles across Europe and globally, including general management and oversight of sales and operations.
In 2006, Laluyaux moved to Business Objects as Vice President of Integration. After the company’s acquisition by SAP, he transitioned into SAP, where he held a series of senior executive roles between 2008 and 2012. His responsibilities spanned corporate development, strategic operations, global sales, and general management of finance, performance management, and risk applications.
In 2012, Laluyaux became CEO and President of Anaplan. In just four years, he scaled Anaplan into a global SaaS enterprise with 650 employees, $100 million in revenue, and a $1 billion valuation. Today, he continues to share his expertise as an active investor and advisor to emerging startups.
And Fred’s impact is only beginning. The emerging field of decision intelligence lays the foundation for the self-driving enterprise and fully autonomous supply chains — an evolution Fred has been pioneering from the start. He was shaping decision intelligence as a discipline long before analysts named the category or large language models (LLMs) fueled today’s AI revolution. With his co-founder Shariq Mansoor, Fred launched Aera Technology in 2017, creating the first decision intelligence agent, Aera, and then launching the first patented, purpose-built platform for agentic decision intelligence, Aera Decision Cloud™. Aera was designed from the start as an agent with an intuitive interface that could engage directly with users, make complex decisions faster and closer to the point of impact, and learn from the outcome of every decision to enable continuous learning and build institutional knowledge.
Alongside his executive roles, Laluyaux is an investor, board member, and advisor to startups in the United States and Europe. He is also active as a thought leader, contributing to discussions on artificial intelligence, enterprise automation, and the future of work through publications, interviews, and speaking engagements.
Frederic Laluyaux’s vision centres on transforming enterprises into “self-driving” organisations powered by decision intelligence. He believes that traditional analytics and AI are insufficient without execution, and that businesses must move towards systems that continuously analyse data, simulate outcomes, and take action in real time. His approach emphasises a balance between machine autonomy and human oversight, where technology handles high-volume decisions while humans define strategy and governance.
Frederic Laluyaux is widely recognised as a leading figure in enterprise software and decision intelligence. His achievements include scaling Anaplan to a billion-dollar valuation and establishing Aera Technology as a pioneer in the emerging category of decision intelligence.
He is regarded as a thought leader in artificial intelligence and enterprise automation, frequently sharing insights through industry conferences, interviews, and publications.
