Established in 2005 Mumbai-based luxury womenswear brand Gavin Miguel is building the foundation of a fashion empire with well defined looks. The store is a one-stop destination for both haute couture and luxury pret. There is a lot of hard work that underlines his success story as the couturier believes in being physically present at his workshops every day and looking into each detail of his couture garments. Though everything he does makes news.. the charming designer was in the headlines for designing evening gowns for Miss Diva awards ceremony 2022 and for his grand finale showing at India Beach Fashion Week.

Since a young age Mumbai-based fashion designer Gavin Miguel decided to leave architecture and pursue fashion design. He was clear in his mind that he wanted to launch his eponymous luxury label. 

“My inspiration comes from a bank of memories somewhere in the back of my head. It is like a library locked far away which depends on my mood is what I bring to the table. My theme stays focused on one aspect which is strength of a woman. From there it trickles down to various aspects of design" Gavin tells fibre2fashion "As long as I stay true to myself the demand will always be there. I have been successful in both markets and currently there are expansion plans. Doing what I love passionately automatically places a different level in the game and that is what catches the eyeballs."

The Mumbai- based couturier's production takes place in couple of his workshops. He is incredibly careful and particular about each of his pieces and is hands-on at the workshops everyday looking through every detail, particularly the haute couture. The pret is taken care of by his team.

Gavin Miguel designed the handcrafted creations for Miss Diva 2022 crowning ceremony. “I wanted to maintain the focus on these beautiful girls and yet add vibrancy in terms of colour. The silhouettes were very strong as we played with the fluidity of the fabric. Few embellishments were used to highlight the gowns" he told Femina. ”Times has been a longstanding association. It only gets better every year. I feel absolutely privileged to be working so closely with the entire team. The freedom of understanding and access is phenomenal. They understand the importance of having a free hand to bring only the best to the table."

The couturier was in the news once again with his grand finale showing at India Beach Fashion Week in Goa. He tells News18: "I feel Goa needs a certain twist to it and that’s the reason why I thought to amalgamate both of my lines which is World of Miguel (pret) and my couture line. Goa is quite progressive right now and I think they are ready for more over-the-top styles with a little tweak."
