History

General Insurance Corporation of India was formed by the General Insurance Corporation Act 1972. Since then, it has become the country’s most trusted reinsurer, providing a range of services required for reinsurance of domestic and foreign risks. GIC Re’s operations have been extended globally, with offices in Singapore, London, Moscow, Dubai and the US. The company is also the first Indian reinsurer to get the ISO certification for the quality of service.
