GEOX was founded in 1995 by Mario Polegato, who invented the perforated sole and patented it in May of that same year. Mario sold his patent and production technology to other companies while retaining a strong stake in GEOX. He serves as chief executive officer of the holding company and of the industrial arm, while his son Enrico serves as vice-chairman.
