Global Imaging Systems began in 1996 when investors and executives purchased a majority interest in MWA Worldwide. GIS also acquired Global Office Products and, in February 2005, changed its name to Global Imaging Systems Inc. Since then, GIS has grown rapidly, acquiring several companies, including Greenwich Office Technologies and Sunbelt Business Systems.
