Guild Mortgage Company was founded in 1960 when Don Britton and Mary Etta Britton founded the small housing agency in San Diego. Over the years, it has grown from a small, local operation to an independent powerhouse with nearly 3,500 employees in 47 states and the District of Columbia. By 2018, Guild Mortgage Company was named the top non-bank mortgage lender in the nation by market share.
