History

Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. was founded in 1899 as a small community bank in Jefferson City, Missouri. The Bank grew rapidly in the early 1900s, opening branches and subsidiaries throughout the state. Hawthorn went public in 1984 and since then has grown to become one of the leading banking groups in Missouri. In 2015, Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. recorded its highest net income ever and in 2020, the total assets of the Group reached $5.5billion.
