Ilyas Oren

Ilyas Oren is a chartered engineer with a wealth of experience in the construction industry. He has expertise in mechanical, electrical, and environmental design, particularly within the super-prime high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors. He is the Associate Director at Gleeds, a global property and construction consultancy. 

Ilyas is also the Managing Director at iOren Consulting, a digital twin and metaverse orientated management consultancy in the construction industry. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (FCIBSE) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). 

His educational background includes a BSc (Hons) in Building Services Engineering and an Executive MBA from Bayes Business School. 

Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey and now living in London, United Kingdom, Ilyas has built a remarkable career based on his technical expertise and innovative approach to engineering solutions. His journey began with a strong academic foundation, earning a BSc (Hons) in Building Services Engineering, followed by an MSc in Building Information Management from the University of Westminster, and an Executive MBA from Bayes Business School. 

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (FCIBSE) and a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET). Ilyas has also obtained several certifications, including Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. For his Executive MBA research, Ilyas delved into the world of digital twins, highlighting their potential to drive the next wave of digital transformation in construction.

Ilyas has worked on many high-profile projects, especially in luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors. His main technical skill is electrical engineering, but his work covers many areas of engineering. He is particularly interested in sustainable design, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which he includes in his projects to create environmentally friendly and socially responsible solutions.

In addition to his professional achievements, Ilyas is committed to giving back to the community. He has volunteered with the British Red Cross, contributing his time and skills to support their initiatives. 

Currently, Ilyas is an Associate Director at Gleeds, an international property and construction consultancy. In this role, he manages various projects, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and sustainability. He is also the Managing Director of iOren Consulting, a firm he started to offer specialised engineering and environmental solutions. Through iOren Consulting, Ilyas has worked with international companies and teams within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, driving growth and delivering innovative results.
