History

In 1982, International Automotive Auctions (IAA) was established with the opening of its first auction in St. Louis, Missouri. IAA pioneered the consolidation strategy for auto auctions in 1990, and since then it has grown to include corporately managed auction locations, 31 independent sites and an online auction platform, iaai.com. IAA is sponsored by KAR Auction Services Inc ., a leading service provider in the used vehicle industry.
