International Breweries PLC (International Breweries) is engaged in the production and distribution of beer, spirits, soft drinks and malt drinks. The company has brewing and bottling plants in Ilesa, Ijebu-Ode, Ota and Agbara, Nigeria. It brews, markets and distributes beer brands, such as Legend Extra Stout, Trophy Lager and Hero Lager brands.
History

The company was established in 1973 to produce and market beer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. The first plant was located in Ilesha, Nigeria. In 1985, International Breweries acquired Ojuelegba Brewery from the Nigerian-American Brewery Limited and in 2000, the company’s operating name was changed to International Breweries Plc. In 2005, it added a new plant in Ijebu-Ode which was expanded in 2009 to enhance production of both local and international beer brands.
