Jose Jesús Guzmán

José Jesús Guzmán is a developer, cloud engineer, and content creator with expertise in emerging technologies and their application in real-world scenarios. He is deeply involved in projects aimed at improving lives through technology. Guzmán is a Microsoft Digital Sherpa, assisting individuals and organisations in effectively leveraging cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. He is also the host and founder of the podcast No es Brujería, es Tecnología (It’s Not Magic, It’s Technology), where he discusses the transformative role of technology in daily life.

Guzmán co-founded Enviaje, an application designed to facilitate affordable and quick deliveries while promoting national tourism. He serves as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading its technological advancements. His professional experience includes roles such as CTO at Maleta de Viajes and Identidad y Biodiversidad, where he integrated technology with social and environmental initiatives. Guzmán also contributed to Microsoft as a Product Engineer for educational institutions in Latin America, improving M365 products.

As an instructor and course creator, he has developed academic content for boot camps on Python, data science, and artificial intelligence at U Camp. He has mentored and judged numerous hackathons, including Talent Hackathon and Hack the Crisis MX, focusing on guiding teams to build impactful solutions. His certifications include multiple Microsoft Azure credentials, reflecting his deep technical knowledge.

Guzmán has been involved in various social and entrepreneurial initiatives. These include serving as a mentor for organisations like the Wadhwani Foundation and Ashoka, where he supported projects addressing societal challenges. His educational background is in Computer Science from Instituto Politécnico Nacional.

José completed his studies at Instituto Politécnico Nacional, graduating in Computer Science with a focus on Information Technology Project Management. During his academic years, he was actively involved in organising programming events and was a finalist in the Talent Hackathon at Campus Party.

After completing his studies, José began his career as a mobile application developer at Tecnocen S.A. de C.V., where he worked on Android and iOS applications for financial institutions. In 2018, he co-founded Enviaje, an application designed to enable affordable and quick deliveries while promoting tourism in Mexico. He continues to serve as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Enviaje, leading its technical innovations.

From 2020 to 2023, José worked as a Digital Sherpa for Microsoft, where he helped students and organisations in Latin America adopt cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and IoT solutions. He also served as a Product Engineer for M365, focusing on enhancing user experience in educational institutions.

José is an experienced educator and has created course content on Python, data science, and artificial intelligence for U Camp. His teaching role extends to mentoring in numerous hackathons, such as Talent Hackathon and Hack the Crisis MX. He has also contributed to publications like Talent Republic and Wild Entrepreneur, covering topics on blockchain and entrepreneurship.

In addition to his professional roles, José has been involved in social initiatives, mentoring young entrepreneurs through Ashoka and the Wadhwani Foundation. He actively supports innovation and systemic change through these organisations.

Currently, José continues to work as CTO of Enviaje, teaches emerging technologies, and hosts the podcast No es Brujería, es Tecnología, where he explores how technology impacts everyday life. Additionally, José was featured on Edelman’s AI Creators You Need to Know list, recognising his influence in emerging technologies. He has also served as a judge and mentor for global initiatives like the Hult Prize and Hack the Crisis MX.
