Biography

Kerry Baldwin is a highly experienced venture capitalist with a focus on deeptech. She is currently the Managing Partner of IQ Capital, an early-stage VC firm based in Cambridge and London, which she co-founded in 2006. Kerry has over 24 years of experience in venture capital, having started her career with BDO Stoy Hayward before joining Venture Technologies in 1998 to invest in the first wave of UK deeptech companies.

Throughout her five funds, Kerry has focused on deeptech early-stage technology, investing from seed to £30m. She is an expert in go-to-market strategy, strategic marketing, competitive intelligence, and heads up IQ Capital's portfolio in cybersecurity, climate tech, supervisory tech, big data, and neuro-tech. She sits on several boards, including Risilience, FNA, CyberSmart, BMLL Technologies, CybSafe, Divido, Neurovalens, and Worldr, and has conducted several exits and IPOs.

In addition to her work at IQ Capital, Kerry is an international advisor and speaker on venture capital, deeptech ecosystems, research, and innovation. She is also a contributor to best practices in venture capital, including ESG and an in-depth study on Investment Committee best practice and decision making across Private Equity and Venture Capital in 2018.

Kerry is highly respected in the industry and was recently appointed as Chair of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association for 2021/22. She is also an honorary Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School.
