KPT Industries was founded in 1952 by John P. Tanner, an engineer from Rockford, Illinois. He opened the original factory to produce car parts for the fledgling automotive market. Over the years, the company grew and expanded. In 1962, the company began producing parts for the aerospace industry. In 2004, KPT was acquired by Millennium Industries and the company has since become a leader in the automotive, industrial and aerospace parts markets.
