Founded in 1930 by Claude Lafuma, the company was initially established as a family business and focused mainly on the production of sleeping bags. In the 1950s, Lafuma began to expand its product range and manufactured tents, backpacks and mountaineering equipment. The company continued to grow and succeeded in becoming a leader in the European market. In 08/05/2019, it was awarded “Outdoor Brand of the Year” by the French Federation of Outdoor Sports and the European Outdoor Group.
